PROFILE OF ASSOCIATION

Japan-Laos Youth Association (JaLYA) is a non government organization aims to contribute to the international exchange of Japan and Lao People's Democratic Republic through supports for education, culture and sport of the youth of Lao People's Democratic Republic.


1 Purpose

2 Activities

Japan-Lao Youth Association (JaLYA) was established in 2007 after the activities by Minoru KAWAHARA and Eriko MATSUZAKA whom has been a Secretary General and an active staff of the Japan Laos General Cooperation Association (Toyama Association) since 1994. The noted activities of Minoru KAWAHARA and Eriko MATSUZAKA are as follows:

3 Organization

The Japan-Laos Youth Association (JaLYA) is headed by Board of Directors, elected by the General Meeting of Association Members. The Board of Directors decides on the association’s strategy and appoints a Secretary General and Secretariat which are responsible for the execution.

The Japan-Laos Youth Association (JaLYA) shall have at least four but no more than seven directors. At this moment, JaLYA has six directors. Chairperson/President is Mr. Minoru KAWAHARA who has been executed activities for Lao P.D.R. since 1994.

The Directors shall be designated by the General Meeting. And the terms of office shall be approved by the general meeting within two years. The terms of office of these six directors are from 1 August 2013 to 31 July 2015.
